NSG 6221 Curriculum Design and Program Development in Nursing Education Lecture: 4 Lab: 0 Practica: 0 Total Credits: 4 This course provides DNP (Post-Master’s) students with the theoretical foundations and practical tools necessary for designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing curricula across academic and clinical education settings. Emphasis is placed on curriculum theory, instructional alignment, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the integration of competency-based frameworks. Students explore the processes involved in academic program development, including needs assessment, mission and goal alignment, course sequencing, and stakeholder engagement. Learners also apply strategies for curriculum revision, innovation, and continuous improvement to prepare for leadership roles in nursing education.
