NSG 6226 Health Policy, Governance, and Regulatory Leadership

This course is designed to prepare DNP (Post-Master’s) students for nurse executive opportunities to engage in health policy leadership, governance structures, and regulatory compliance at the organizational, state, and national levels. Students explore the intersection of healthcare policy, legal frameworks, and ethical responsibilities as they relate to executive decision-making. Key topics include board governance, organizational accountability, accreditation, licensure, and regulatory leadership. The course emphasizes advocacy, policy development, and the nurse leader’s role in shaping equitable and high-performing healthcare systems.
