This graduate program is designed for those qualified individuals who wish to continue their academic credentials in the field of data science.  The required coursework consists of 45 quarter credit hours focused on advanced mathematics, data gathering, and data mining and culminates in an applied project.

MISSION
The Master of Science in Data Science program is designed for students to advance their study of predictive analytics, business intelligence, and data mining tools to solve problems in engineering, science, and business. This program is designed to provide organizations with analysts that have a deep understanding of mathematics, computing, and tools designed for large scale data sets.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
Graduates completing the program will accomplish the following outcomes:

  1. Apply mathematic foundations to identify and predict trends and suggest correlations across data.
  2. Design methods for data collection across wide area networks, infrastructure, existing data sets, and social systems.
  3. Develop a narrative for data results based upon analysis and identified trends and correlations.
  4. Research computing problems and apply the latest technology and published findings to provide better solutions.
  5. Apply theory, research, and practice to a selected project and prepare a data solution.
