Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration degree program is designed to provide students with the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills associated with a career in healthcare administration.  The healthcare industry is one of the top 5 largest industries in the U.S. and the job growth forecast for medical and Health Services Managers is much faster than average.  Healthcare administrators and managers are responsible for planning, directing, coordination, and leadership in a broad range of healthcare groups.  They must work closely with clinicians to provide quality care in a fiscally accountable manner.  The goal of the program is to prepare students to seek careers as healthcare business leader professionals in hospitals, physician group practices, skilled nursing facilities, home health and other community agencies. Students are required to earn a minimum grade of “C” in all major courses.

Through completion of the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration program, students will:

  1. Apply practical knowledge in all areas of healthcare administration and the functional areas of business.
  2. Apply current technology in support of managing and leading healthcare organizations.
  3. Deliver effective written and oral communications.
  4. Integrate different types of organizations, services, and personnel and their relationships across the healthcare delivery system to informed decision making.
  5. Demonstrate collaboration for effective leadership and that establish strategic visions.
  6. Demonstrate critical thinking and analysis of effective business principles and processes within the healthcare environment.
