RDH 1230 Dental Hygiene Practice Pre-Clinic I
Lecture: 2 Lab: 0 Practica: 3 Total Credits: 5
This course examines dental hygiene history and profession growth. Introduction to infection control, medical and dental history review, recording, and acquisition, monitoring of vital signs, and intraoral and extraoral examination. Principles of positioning for periodontal instrumentation, instrument classification, grasp and finger rests, along with instrument movement and orientation are taught with the aid of the manikin to prepare students for clinical hygiene practice.
