DPT 6120 Physical Agents Lecture: 1 Lab: 1 Practica: 0 Total Credits: 2 This course introduces students to the underlying principles and clinical applications of selected biophysical agents. Critical appraisal of current evidence examines the physical and physiological effects of these biophysical agents, with emphasis on pain, inflammation, tissue healing, and muscle re-education. Clinical decision-making emphasizes the appropriate selection of physical agents and treatment parameters based on patient indications and contraindications/precautions and desired treatment effects. Laboratory sessions develop skills for the safe and effective clinical application of these biophysical agents.
Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of Quarter 2 courses
