NSG 1221 Fundamental Concepts & Skills for Practical Nurses II Lecture: 3 Lab: 2 Practica: 2 Total Credits: 7 This second of the Fundamentals courses continues the sequence to more complex skills with emphasis on practice and repetition in lab setting. The course expands the skills practice to incorporate increased use of nursing process and problem solving. This course continues the six contextual threads woven throughout the two Fundamentals courses, including patient-centered care; critical thinking and clinical judgement; communication; teamwork and collaboration; patient education; and cultural sensitivity and competence. This course builds to a simulation scenario requiring teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making in the context of skills proficiency demonstration.
