OTD 6411 Fieldwork 1C

Lecture: 0 Lab: 0 Practica: 1 Total Credits: 1
This is the third of a three-course sequence that provides experiential learning designed to integrate academic knowledge with applied occupational therapy practice across varied settings and populations. Fieldwork rotations focus on Older Adult/Adult, Psychosocial/Mental Health, and Children/Adolescent practice areas and may occur in traditional, community-based, or emerging settings. One of the Level I fieldwork experiences will focus specifically on psychosocial practice. Students apply foundational concepts of the occupational therapy process, evaluation, intervention, and outcome to enhance understanding of client-centered and occupation-based care. Learning experiences emphasize the psychosocial factors influencing engagement in occupation and the role of occupational therapy in promoting health and well-being across the lifespan. Students may participate in traditional site-based placements, faculty-led experiences, simulations, and/or virtual learning opportunities. Students will engage in post-fieldwork guided reflection and debriefing to facilitate connections between classroom learning and authentic clinical contexts.
