OTD 6414 Contemporary Education, Leadership, and Advocacy in Practice Lecture: 4 Lab: 0 Practica: 0 Total Credits: 4 This course explores the essential skills and knowledge needed to deliver effective occupational therapy services. Topics include the role of an occupational therapy manager, business and program operations, leadership development, maintaining professional standards, applying evidence-based practices, understanding policies, and preparing future leaders. Students develop competencies in leadership, management, and advocacy, equipping them for lifelong professional growth. The course provides insights into managing occupational therapy services, launching and sustaining a private practice or business, adhering to regulations, securing grant funding, and fostering the next generation of leaders.
