OTD 6460 Occupational Performance III: Child & Adolescent Lecture: 4 Lab: 2 Practica: 0 Total Credits: 6 This course introduces occupational therapy practice and interventions with children and adolescent populations. Emphasis is placed on occupational behavior, developmental theories, and occupational therapy frames of reference, applying them to physical and psychosocial conditions commonly observed in youth. Students analyze psychosocial factors that influence occupational engagement to support the development of client-centered, meaningful, and occupation-based outcomes. The course integrates evidence-based practice and applies knowledge across diverse clinical and community settings. The lab component provides hands-on learning experiences, fostering skill development in occupational therapy evaluation and intervention. Students explore the application of theory, models of practice, and frames of reference relevant to conditions typically encountered in children and adolescents.
