ECH 2110 Echocardiography I

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and foundational cardiac imaging principles. Students develop skills in patient preparation, positioning, and image acquisition while gaining an understanding of cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamic assessment. The curriculum emphasizes the sonographer’s role in optimizing image quality and supporting clinical interpretation. Topics include echocardiographic techniques, functional assessments, and an overview of common cardiovascular conditions and interventional procedures.
