MSC 6051 Research Proposal and Development
Lecture: 9 Lab: 0 Practica: 0 Total Credits: 9
The Research Proposal and Development course pairs students with their Research Capstone mentor. Students learn about the various research options available and work together with their mentor to develop a feasible research project with appropriate goals to be completed and refined prior to graduation from the program. Students learn the essentials of scientific writing and begin their preliminary research and learn the role of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Students complete the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training. Students write their literature review and expand their project including acquisition of necessary research materials needed for data collection and compilation. Students make revisions as needed for IRB approval.
