Overview
The Information Technology Specialist Certificate program is designed to provide students with foundations in understanding computer operations and components; the foundations of networking, systems integration, and operating systems; and deep exposure to system deployment and troubleshooting. The program is focused on applied skills and students work to implement technology to solve business problems from networked systems to desktop solutions. Students are required to earn a minimum grade of “C” in all major courses.
Goals/Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Information Technology Specialist Certificate program will accomplish the following outcomes:
- Apply knowledge of computing requirements and mathematics for technology solutions in business applications.
- Analyze a problem and identify the computing requirements for the appropriate solution. Plan, install, manage, and troubleshoot a computer network.
- Design and use spreadsheets and database applications for business processes and project tracking.
The Certificate in Information Technology Specialist is currently offered at the Knoxville and Asheville Campuses and Online.
