Program Overview

The goal of the Tax Preparation concentration is to help prepare students for the Enrolled Agent Examination. The Enrolled Agent credential, awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), grants individuals the unlimited rights to represent individuals and businesses before the IRS when it comes to collections, audits, and appeals.

Learning Outcomes

Through completion of the Associate of Science in Accounting program, students will:

1. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the functional areas of business.
2. Students will be able to demonstrate current technology in support of business administration.
3. Students will be able to communicate effectively in written and oral communication formats.
4. Students will be able to recognize financial and accounting data and information.
5. Students will demonstrate the ability to meet EA exam requirements in tax preparation.
