Overview

The Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology is designed to prepare students with the fundamental engineering knowledge and skills to design solutions, solve problems, and troubleshoot situations in diverse areas ranging from electronics, aerospace, manufacturing, automation, CAD, and medical automation industries. Students learn how to apply basic electrical engineering technology principles to produce computer-aided designs and analyze hands-on electronics for real-world applications. The coursework also focuses on building critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Students in this program also gain an understanding of the importance of critical thinking, teamwork, and problem solving. Students are required to earn a minimum grade of “C” in all major courses.

Learning Outcomes

Through completion of the Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology program, students will:

  • Apply fundamental mathematical, scientific, and engineering technologies to formulate and solve engineering-related problems.
  • Create and modify complete sets of engineering drawings using critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop and maintain systems using instrumentation, programming, and controls.
