DMS 2155 Clinical Education II Lecture: 0 Lab: 0 Practica: 8 Total Credits: 8 Clinical Education II is a competency-based clinical practicum where students advance their skills in sonography, performing examinations under direct supervision while continuing to master sonography equipment. As the second course in the Clinical Education sequence, students build upon foundational skills with a focus on performing both basic ultrasound images and complex images, with or without assistance from clinical preceptors. They are expected to understand lab protocols, schedules, and the operational differences among clinics and hospitals. Throughout the course, students work toward passing rigorous competencies involving routine and abnormal scans in a reduced timeframe, reinforcing their ability to apply technical skills, clinical decision-making, and professional standards in real-world settings.
Prerequisite(s): DMS 1455 with a grade of C or better
