DMS 2255 Clinical Education III Lecture: 0 Lab: 0 Practica: 8 Total Credits: 8 Clinical Education III is a competency-based clinical practicum where students perform sonograms under direct supervision, gaining comprehensive scanning knowledge and advancing their technical proficiency. As the third course in the Clinical Education sequence, students refine their skills in both basic ultrasound scans and complex examinations, with or without assistance from clinical preceptors. They are expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of lab protocols, rules, schedules, and the operational differences among clinics and hospitals. Throughout the course, students work toward passing rigorous competencies involving routine and abnormal sonograms in a reduced timeframe, further strengthening their scanning abilities, clinical decision-making, and adherence to professional standards in real-world settings.
Prerequisite(s): DMS 2155 with a grade of C or better
