DMS 2355 Clinical Education IV Lecture: 0 Lab: 0 Practica: 8 Total Credits: 8 Clinical Education IV is the fourth course in the Clinical Education series for diagnostic medical sonography. At this stage, students become integral members of the healthcare team, working under the guidance of professional sonographers to perform complex sonography procedures under both direct and indirect supervision. Building on prior clinical experience, students focus on performing both basic ultrasound exams and complex procedures with or without assistance from clinical preceptors. They are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of lab protocols, rules, schedules, and the operational differences among clinics and hospitals. Throughout the course, students must successfully complete rigorous competencies involving routine and abnormal sonograms in a reduced timeframe, further refining their technical proficiency, clinical decision-making, and professional adaptability in real-world settings.
Prerequisite(s): DMS 2255 with a grade of C or better
